How we check facts

• Sizes and terms are cross-checked against several specialist dealers and archives, and given as ranges where real posters vary.
• Biographical facts about artists come from published sources such as encyclopaedia entries and museum or festival notes; where sources disagree we leave the detail out.
• We never reproduce poster artwork we do not have the right to show. Our drawings are original diagrams.
• Pages show the date they were last updated, and corrections are made as soon as an error is reported.

Independence and advertising

Locandine Best does not sell, buy or appraise posters and takes no payment from dealers or auction houses. The site is paid for by display advertising, which is always labelled and never placed inside the text of an answer.

The history of this domain

From about 2009 to 2016 locandinebest.net was an Italian image host for film posters and DVD covers, and Wikipedia pages still cite some of its files. The domain later lapsed. Locandine Best is a new, unrelated project: we have no connection with the earlier owners and none of their files.
